First elected in 2012, Commissioner Trent is currently his third term as a Bertie County Commissioner. He formerly served as Chairman to the Bertie County Board of Commissioners in
2016, 2017, 2019 & 2022 & 2024.
Additionally, Mr. Trent was appointed in 2018
to the Roanoke Chowan Community College Board of
Trustees and on the Bertie-Martin Regional Jail
Board, serving as Chairman (2019-2024) and Vice
Chairman (2015 - 2019). Chairman of the YMCA
Board (2015 - 2019), and as a member of the
Vidant Hospital Board of Directors (2015 -
2017). Lastly, he completed a term on the School Safety Commission (2013-2019).
