Current Status: Photo ID Required for Voting
On, Friday, April 28, 2023, the North
Carolina Supreme Court,
reversed the injunction against
implementation of the Photo ID
legislation. As a result, the Photo ID
statutes enacted in 2018 and 2019 will
be implemented going forward, starting
with the 2023 Municipal Election. This
page will be updated when additional
guidance is provided by the NC State
Board of Elections.
